<p><strong>Who you are:&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></p>
<p>SumUp is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager for our Instore Experience and Integrations Team to join SumUp in our Boulder, Colorado office (M-F in-office/not hybrid).&nbsp; This team owns the customer facing display that powers thousands of merchants supporting a loyalty experience that serves 37 countries.

You’ll lead a tight-knit group of 9-12 software engineers and partner with product, compliance and global engineering stakeholders to deliver products worldwide..</p>

<p><strong>What you’ll do:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Set and communicate the strategic direction for both the US Instore and Integrations domains, providing technical and people leadership</li>
<li>Own the full CFD and Integrations stack end-to-end</li>
<li>Coach, mentor and grow engineers while fostering an inclusive, high-performing culture.</li>
<li>Partner with Product &amp; Design peers to scope work, remove blockers, and prioritise iterations to manage delivery for your team.</li>

<p><strong>Must-have expertise and knowledge to be successful in this role:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Proven experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex projects in a regulated environment.</li>
<li>Problem solver with high autonomy that takes ownership and drives to systematic approaches to solutions.</li>
<li>Applies systematic approaches to solutions - Breaks down ambiguous problems using structured methods (e.g. 5 Whys, decision trees, trade-off matrices, RACI) to clarify options and drive decisions.</li>
<li>Leads in defining, tracking and delivering team commitments (such as OKRs).</li>
<li>Ensures domain knowledge is accessible, discoverable, and used across the organisation.</li>
</ul>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Nice-to-have skills that are not needed but are a bonus:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>EMV / PCI-DSS, ISO 8583, ACH, SEPA, SWIFT or FedNow protocol expertise.</li>
<li>Product experience that spans Loyalty, POS and Payments.</li>
<li>Familiarity with GDPR, TCPA and CASL as they relate to loyalty data and marketing communications.</li>

<li>Compensation will be finalized based on the candidate’s experience and location</li>
